Vinyl siding is a very common building material in South Georgia. Just like other siding types, it is prone to mold and mildew growth, and can even require more frequent cleanings. Using a low pressure application of sodium hypochlorite and surfactants we are able to bring vinyl siding back to life by quickly washing away months/years of dirt, mold, and mildew. The best part is that our cleaning process is actually what’s recommended by the vinyl manufacturers.

Depending on what area you live in in the U.S., some seasons can be really hard on your home. Harsh winters and hot summers can take a toll on any building materials, so be sure to take that into consideration before deciding how often, and when, to have your home washed. If you live in an area with these harsher climates, try pressure washing your home at least twice a year. More temperate climates can be pressure washed once a year. Late springtime is usually a fan favorite for people to start pressure washing for many reasons: the weather starts to get warmer, pollen has been washed away by rain, and your home will look perfect for summertime entertaining.

Oxidation Removal – What is it and why you should have it professionally removed.

Unfortunately, wet weather combined with direct sunlight can also create a white, chalky residue on your siding due to a process called oxidation. The presence of mold and oxidation on your exterior is a reasonable cause for concern. What you are seeing is fading, or oxidation. It’s a natural process that happens when the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material is exposed to oxygen and other natural elements as well as dirt and grime build-up. Check your home for signs of oxidation annually. It will be easy to spot the white, chalky substance on darker colored vinyl siding. If you have a pastel or light colored vinyl siding, you can check for oxidation by running a finger across the siding surface.

Our trained staff here at Big Dawg has the knowledge and the equipment to take care of your oxidation removal. Through the use of concentrated chemicals and a softwash process we can get your home back to its original luster.
